Unlike our ancestors, we live fast paced, stress-filled lives. We eat sugars, grains and refined carbohydrates (see Dr. Weston-Price). We eat processed packaged commerical foods, grown in depleted soils missing important minerals and trace minerals.
Our foods are laced with artificial colors, flavors (see Excitotoxins; The Taste that Kills, by Russell Blaylock), preservatives, herbicides, fungicides and pesticides. And if that’s not enough we now have GMO (genetically modified) foods, outlawed by most of the world except us. The science on eating GMO foods is truly frightening.
Over the past 60 to 80 years we have been engaged in a grand laboratory experiment on ourselves, and our species, by consuming these highly processed foods and pseudo-foods, made for taste and shelf life, but not for good nutrition.
And how’s it working out for us?
We have more obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, artheritis, IBS, dementia, stroke, autoimmune disease, ADD, ADHD, insomnia, sexual dysfunction, etc., than ever before and it keeps getting worse each year.
So we Americans are 5% of the worlds population and we consume 50% of the worlds drugs. We no longer have a Health Care System. We have a Disease Symptom Management Industrial Complex wit a pill for every symptom.
As a result the human genome is changing, and it’s not for the better.
If Drugs could make us Well, we would be Well by now.
Dr. Royal Lee said it best.
“One of the biggest tragedies of human civilization is the precedence of chemical therapy (drugs) over nutrition. The substitution of artificial over natural, of poisons over food. We are feeding people poison (drugs) trying to correct the reactions of starvation.”
Dr. Royal Lee ‑ January 12, 1951
Hippocrates said it even better, “Let Food be Thy Medicine”
Nutritional Consultation
1. We start with a detailed review of your health history, current and past. I need to know about any symptoms you have, your past medical history, surgeries, traumas, stress-level, toxic exposures, prescription drugs and supplements you are taking, your food preferences, family medical history, etc.
2. Next a nutrition oriented physical examination is done and any necessary lab tests are ordered.
3. Then as I pull together all the information a clear picture usually begins to emerge as to what your top issues are and what nutritional program is needed to bring your body back into balance and towards more optimal health.
